Fantastic all-around lens 😀😃😀
A Stellar Lens After purchasing this lens I had to join the chorus of praise heaped on it. I had all the intentions of getting the to go with my new . However the recent January-March price drop of $60 sealed the deal. I figured it was worth the gamble, or as I’ve often seen it referred to “the Sigma lottery”. The reviews on this lens have been in for a long time, and most of them are quite positive. Some even rate this lens better than the venerable Canon EF-S 17-55. However, there is also the black cloud that seems to hang over Sigma’s head – that of variable quality control. You’ll see the bitter reviews of folks with bad experiences right here.If you hang around the camera forums, this can get to be even more depressing. People going through all kinds of tests for their lenses, constantly trading them back in for…
Great lens for my Nikon D7000 and D7100 This a great, not-so-little-walk-around F2.8 lens. I use it on my D7000 and D7100 for general photography. I agree with most of the reviews I have read on this site. It is sharp at all apertures. I usually do not worry about corner sharpness, but I can say that I have not noticed that being a problem. I usually shoot at F2.8-F5.6 with the focus in the center 2/3s of the image..The stabilization is a plus for me. I have captured some very low light images with this lens (see uploaded images). Between the stabilization and the high ISO of both of my Nikons, I am constantly amazed at the ability of this combination to create “wow” images, handheld. I suppose I could carry around my 40-year-old, built-to-hold-a-tank tripod, but why if I do not need to?This is a wonderful travel lens. I take it, my Nikon AF Fisheye DX 10.5mm f/2.8 G ED and 85mm f/1.8D AF, paired with one of my bodies for a pretty light, fun kit.The stabilization is powered off…
