Super 500mm/1000mm f/8 Manual Telephoto Lens for Sony a7r, a7s, a7, a6300, a6000, a5100, a5000, a3000, NEX-7, NEX-6, NEX-5T, NEX-5N, NEX-5R, 3N and other E-Mount Digital Mirrorless Cameras

500mm / 1000mm f/8 Manual Focus Lens is a classic refractor-style T-mount lens, with an aperture diaphragm in the middle of the lens body to stop down the aperture when necessary. However, it is assumed that much of the shooting with such a lens will be at its maximum f/8.0 aperture, with a tripod, monopod, or other such support. The included 2x doubler converts this 500mm lens into a 1000mm.

When combined with the included T-mount to fit your camera system, this super telephoto works on both “full frame” cameras as well as the “APS-C” style digital SLR cameras. You can use the lens in “M” manual exposure mode or “A” aperture-priority mode only. This lens’ sophisticated achromatic refractor design yields images with pleasing peak contrast and well controlled flare. It can be used at maximum aperture on a very bright day for some images of moving subjects.

– Achromatic refractor 500mm f/8 lens in T-mount
– Multicoated optics
– Knurled focus ring to the front of the lens
– Accepts 67mm filters on the front of the lens
– Fixed tripod collar
– Meant for use with monopods, chest supports, or tripods

Great Purchase! I bought this lens for my Canon EOS Rebel T3 with the Canon EF version. I am very impressed. I only have a normal 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens for my camera. I wanted to get farther shots, so I researched a little. I was conflicted because there were some lenses that were thousands of dollars, and some, like this one, that are very nicely priced compared to those. I bought it to see how it would work out. Please Note: I am not an advanced photographer, so I don’t know a lot of technical terms. Also, I just got this lens the day I am posting this. I might have more to add to this review later. What is included in the Canon EF:- 500/1000mm lens- Blow thingie (I don’t know what it’s called) This cleans off dust from the lens- Plastic pen that has a brush side and a smooth, foamy side This cleans the lens, too- 2 Microfiber cleaning cloths- T Mount Adapter This connects the camera to the lens- 2.0x…

Great for under $100! I got this just in time to photograph the “Super Moon.” I mounted it (after attaching the T Mount) to my Sony NEX-7 and then using the tripod collar put it on my tripod. I was looking for a great image of the once in a lifetime “Super Moon.” The moon had risen above the trees and I did a visual sighting until I could see the orb in the view screen. I had the lens set to infinity, but had to back off to ‘100 feet’ (probably due to the T mount extra length). I set the f/stop to f/11 and let the NEX compute the shutter speed. It was way over exposed (Typical of such night exposures). I set the exposure compensation to -5 stops and got a pretty dark moon. I advanced the exposure compensation to -3 and got a perfect image! I probably should have used manual, but it was dark out and I could not see the controls. I ran back into the house and downloaded the image and with a bit of smart sharpening (Focus Blur) in photoshop for the image you see here. This is a great lens…
